Oh the Insignificance!

Okay... to (sort of) mark my return to blogging, I decided to change the skin of my blog. Not much to say about it, since I am using someone else's template.

Not much has been going on in my life besides the fact that the big exams are THAT close... but that isn't going to stop me from celebrating a few things. :)

Going back to the last two Saturdays, I went out for a dinner with my cousin, Farid, to celebrate his 17th birthday. There were ten of us, and the only proof we have of spending the night out together (at a vulnerable time like this :P) is this photo of us taken with my sister's multi-purpose cellphone (honestly, I don't know what to call those things any more. I mean, you can't just say it's a cellphone, because it's so much more than that. O_O)

Heh. That was the last thing we did on that day before going our separate ways - we met up at Blue Lagoon for a buffet-style dinner. The typical trademark of my sister and I are being fashionably late for just about anything we attended or were invited to. I blame it all on my genes though - the same pretty much applies for the rest of my family. Anyway, after stuffing ourselves full (or rather, after stuffing MYself full), the chocolate fudge cake arrived unexpectedly. Farid's father ordered for one, but Farid insisted that Teo Ken blew out the candles instead because Farid's original birthday was on the 6th of October, Teo Ken's being on the 9th (and we went out on the 8th). Dexter had plans of throwing Teo into the swimming pool, but we all thought better anyway. Despite having so much trouble lighting up the candles on the cake (the candle tipped a couple million of times before we even got to start singing, and I even managed to burn the plastic part of the lighter to the extend that the plastic moulded together, resulting in a lighter with a cap that refused to open =___="), we didn't exactly have room for cake. After settling the bill, we got individual boxes and took a slice home each... or so it was supposed to be that way, but the guys had other plans and I (without any shame) tagged along.

Farid wanted to join in the fun, but knowing his parents, they can be very strict people. I felt like Farid deserves to tag along too, so I took Farid's cellphone, called up my aunt and told her I'll be borrowing Farid for a while. :P Shocked that his mum allowed me to proceed, he followed us to the bowling alley in a hyperactive mode.

We met up with more guys along the way, and we made quite a lot of noise in the bowling alley. Majority of us had not gone bowling for at least a few years, so it was no surprise that we got many gutter balls, and whenever anyone scored a strike or a spare, we'd loudly cheer each other on. There were some really embarassing moments like throwing the ball meaning for it to roll forwards (but it slid off the hand and rolled backwards instead) and throwing the ball like as if it were a bouncy ball (or a bomb), we all had a good time. I also managed to meet an old classmate, Angeline. I was really happy to see her, and we caught up with a little bit of each other's lives, which pretty much involves exams, exams... and more exams. Seems like the answer to life is exams for us teenage-to-be-adults. Whoever came up with 42 better re-calculate.

Mum, dad and my youngest sister Eleena joined up with us later, which we thought (for the second time) we were going to part for sure. After saying our goodbyes, we noticed the guys had left their share of the cake behind! Farid wanted to stay out a little longer anyway, so we stopped by Coffee Bean, where we got ourselves a few drinks, and met up with the guys again who were sitting outside. We joined them again, gave them back their cakes, and sat at the set of stairs, as you can see in the picture above. :) (Farid was the camera-man).

Brendan also managed to pass me a copy of the Prefect's Night presentation (which I missed out on). I watched it the next morning, and I pretty much enjoyed watching it, and to think of it, I miss my days being a prefect, and the days where I was so much more energetic and had the chance to participate in everything I could. Thank you ever so much you guys, I will never, ever forget every single one of you - whether I was the one pushing you, or the other way round, and whether I've let you all down, I truly am sorry for the trouble - it doesn't matter if you were to forgive me or not, I'd understand, one way or another. :)

Last Saturday, my cousin (Farid, again! :) ) and his family met up with our family at Holiday Inn's 'Macam Macam Ada' buffet style dinner for breaking our fast. Even though there was a lot of food (and I can't say I didn't enjoy myself at the beginning part), we got smoked by the barbecue, had one end of the ribbon of my shirt dipped into the satay sauce, cued and bumped into rude people, I tripped once or twice on the stairs, and had my eye on the last few pieces of chocolate cake which was greedily taken by one awful woman who practically stacked her plate with it (come on, there were about eight to ten pieces!) and had hot water poured into a mug while anticipating hot coffee. After that dinner, I quickly told mum, that would be the last time I would ever want to drag myself to a buffet style dinner.

My sisters, my cousin and I went round walking after that, which we got totally bored of in the matter of thirty minutes or so. We checked out new stores, and I really fancied this adorable pink skirt which costs close to RM 100. That store, though, looked like a pure copy of Zara - only that store isn't Zara. Hmm... So, we landed ourselves at Coffee Bean after that, had an apple crumble and ice blended each, and sat down at the most cosy corner with the purple sofa, chatting the night away. This session alone made the whole night - I would have reasoned myself to get out of the house for this rather than that buffet style dinner. :P

Well, I've had fantastic weekends for the past two weeks - even though exams are coming up, so is Hari Raya, and no one, not even this exam, is going to stop me from meeting my cousins and enjoying myself to the celebration. I don't intend to miss Halloween either, though it's not a tradition for any of us here to go out trick or treating, but I will come up with something one way or another.

I better stop blogging here, then. Till the next time I find there is something for me to update on, TTFN!
